Located on the northwest edge of Omaha is the small, unincorporated village known as Irvington.  In the mid to late 1800’s a farming and ranching economy developed in the area, a post office opened,  and smaller  businesses came to support settlers and this agricultural community.  The town continued to modestly grow, but eventually the city of Omaha annexed much of the area and only a few retail outlets and original homes remain at this time.

However, this does not mean that the Irvington community is not flourishing today.  In the early 1990’s one of Omaha’s largest home developers purchased land near the original town site.   Modest, family homes were built and the construction continues today.  With various models, sizes, finishes and amenities the prices vary from the low $100,000’s to the $175,000 range which attracts young families and first time home buyers.

Many restaurants, a movie theater, amateur athletic fields, and two sizable lakes are in close proximity, providing year round recreation.  And shopping is near with several “big box” outlets, grocery stores, and smaller retail centers just a short walk or drive from the homes and apartments in the community.

The Omaha Public School System serves the area as do several parochial and private schools.  With close proximity to the Alegent Health—Immanuel  Medical Center, several manufacturing and technology businesses, and professional offices, employment on many levels is near.
